Who is Bill McLeod?

Bill McLeod was married to Barbara (nee Robinson) in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 3 1942.  The married couple then immediately moved to Rosthern, Saskatchewan (and did what?) before returning to Winnipeg in June of 1942.  Until the summer of 1943 Bill freelanced and traveled to Regina to minister in a drop-in centre for service men.  In the summer of 1943 Bill served at the Inter-Varsity Pioneer Camp in Manitoba.    McLeod’s continued to live in Strathclair, Manitoba until the war was over. Each week they then traveled to and ministered in the communities of Shoal Lake, Birdette, and Birtle.  Bill also directed summer camps at Birtle, Long Bow Lake, and Shoal Lake during those years.

In !945 Bill joined the Shanytmen’s Christian Association . For the next several years Bill traveled to logging camps in Manitoba where he shared the Gospel with men who worked in the camps.  In the late 1940's Bill was involved with Madge Lake Bible Camp which was later taken over by Canadian Sunday School Mission.

Early 1950 Bill founded and pastored Tabor Baptist Church in Transcona, Manitoba.  At that time he was also working for the American government as a chaplain at the radar base in Beausejour, Manitoba.    During the 1950’s Bill also founded Grace Baptist Church in Selkirk, Manitoba and Bird River Bible Camp.

In early 1960 Bill left the pastorate and served for over two years as the District Worker for Central Canada Baptist Conference.  In this capacity Bill visited and encouraged many young pastors and church congregations. In 1962 Bill accepted the call to pastor Ebenezer Baptist church in Saskatoon, Sakstachewan.  He served as pastor of Ebenezer for 10 years.  During those years Bill also founded Nemieben Lake Bible Camp.

In 1971 God sent a major revival outbreak that began at Ebenezer Baptist Church and subsequently spread throughout Canada, the US and even overseas.  As a result of this outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Bill responded to God’s call to join Canadian Revival Fellowship. During his time with CRF Bill led revival meetings in almost every Canadian province, half of the 50 US states, and in the countries of Ecuador, Uruquay, Chile, Argentina, India, Philippines, Scotland, Romania, and Sweden.  Bill also ministered  in Peru during a time of service as chaplain on board the ship Doulos operated by Operation Mobilization.

1986 was the year that Bill and Barbara moved into their current residence in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  During the past 20 years in Winnipeg, Bill has pastored several churches in the area including Faith Baptist, Grace Baptist, Pineridge Church, Abundant Life Baptist and Faith Community.  He also traveled extensively during these years ministering as the Lord led in many crusades and revival meetings.  He continues to write, teach, mentor, travel occasionally and enjoy the long life that God has blessed him with.

Bill and Barbara have 5 children, 19 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
